Betty J. Chandler 83, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her residence on February 14, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born April 11, 1932 in Martin, Kentucky to Harry and Mary (Walk) Branham. She lived her early years in Floyd County Kentucky and moved to East Toledo at the age of 16, Betty met the love of her life, Don J. Chandler and were married October 18, 1951 in Charleston, West Virginia. She worked as a Paraprofessional for Toledo Public Schools; serving at Navarre Elementary School, East Toledo Junior High, and retired from Waite High School in 2001 after 27 years of service. Betty was recognized as a lifetime member of the Navarre Elementary School Parent Teacher Association. Betty loved the Lord and was a past member of Clark Street United Methodist Church and East Toledo Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Don "Jeff" Chandler Jr., Gwen D. Gregory, Alma J. (Dennis) Becker, Thomas E. Chandler, and Steven B. (Laurie) Chandler; daughters-in-law, Debbie and Claudia; 25 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one on the way; along with many nieces, nephews, and loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; children, John A. Chandler, Chester R. Chandler, and David L. Chandler; along with her 6 siblings. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd, on Friday, February 19, 2016 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 9:30 am. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Betty's memory may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Waite High School Scholarship Foundation.
