Betty Joyce Hulls (Argo) completed her journey to Heaven on September 2, 2021. She passed away peacefully in her Oregon, OH home, surrounded by loved ones. She was 89 years old.
Betty was born on June 2, 1932 to James and Heline Argo in Bradenton, Florida. She spent her childhood in the south and moved to Ohio after marrying her husband, Howard. Though she raised her family in Ohio, she never forgot her Floridian roots, and even kept her windows open all summer as a tribute.
Betty was a founding member of First Baptist Church Oregon, where she played the organ for many years. She was devoted to her church community, and she even worked for the Southern Baptist Association as a secretary. Many members of the congregation considered Betty family.
Betty lived a righteous and simple life. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. She also loved gardening, playing hymns on her organ, sewing – where she's won numerous awards for her quilting and afghans, and baking – her pecan pie was a coveted Thanksgiving tradition!
Betty is survived by her son-in-law Keith (Cathi); stepdaughter Loretta; grandchildren Sean (Katie), Tammy (Mike), Bob, Tim (Kari), Beth, Jesse, Sadie; and great-grandchildren Ariana and Jeffrey.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; daughter, Cathi; stepchildren Marie and Eddie; siblings James, Jeannette, Jasper, Rae, and Doris.
Visitation for Betty will be held at Eggleston Meinert and Pavley Funeral Home on Wedensday September 8, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday September 9. Entombment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park in the Mausoleum.
