Betty J. "Toots" Tomsic, 90, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 10, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Betty was born October 12, 1934, in Burnside, Kentucky, to Joseph and Elizabeth (Olah) Farkas. In 1952, Betty graduated from Waite High School. Betty worked in the office of US Congressman Lud Ashley and retired from Teledyne in 1995. She was a lifelong member of Calvin United Church of Christ, Toledo. Betty and her husband Steve were world travelers, sharing in countless memorable trips with family. Betty hosted memorable 4th of July parties and cherished the time spent with her family.
Betty is survived by her sons, David (Debbie) Tomsic and Doug (Mary Lou) Tomsic; grandchildren, Laura (Andrew) Marckel, Beverly (Darrin) Meyer, Lisa (Christopher) Luda, and Michelle Tomsic; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Ryan, Cassidy, Christopher "CJ", Cayleigh, and Cole; brother, Joseph (Marge) Farkas; beloved sister-in-law, Kaye Tomsic; along with many loving family members and friends. Preceded in death by her parents and husband, Steve.
The family will receive friends at Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road Sunday, December 15, 2024, from 12:00 pm until 5:00 pm. Funeral services Monday, December 16, 2024 at 11:00 am in Calvin United Church of Christ, 1946 Bakewell Street, Toledo, where the family will greet friends at 10:00 am. Interment: North Oregon Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Calvin United Church of Christ.
