Betty L. Ueberroth, 86, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on December 18, 2025 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born on February 6, 1939 in Toledo, Ohio to Kenneth and Helen (Shimman) Schriefer. Betty graduated from Clay High School in 1957. She was happily married to her loving husband of over 50 years, Timothy, until his passing in 2021. Betty worked at Riverside Hospital for many years then for Medical Mutual Insurance and Muscular Dystrophy, where she enjoyed the yearly camp, before retirement. She also volunteered at Hospice. Betty was also known for drawing and being very creative, especially with carving butter turkeys for Thanksgiving tables and butter bunnies and lambs for Easter tables. She also loved writing poetry, even becoming a finalist in a competition. As a baby, she won a beautiful baby contest. She was also an avid lottery player, once winning $100,000 dollars on the Ohio Lottery Kicker. Betty enjoyed feeding the birds, taking in stray dogs, cats and even a kid that needed a place to stay. Betty had a strong faith in God. Betty was a devout Catholic, she loved her faith and prayed the Rosary daily. Betty loved life and always found humor in it. She had many fun adventures in her years. She loved her children and family and was always there for them.
Betty is survived by her children, Michael Ueberroth, Pamela (Daniel) Berger, Jon (Tegan) Ueberroth, Gary Ueberroth and Amy (Dave) Popkin; grandchildren, Lukas Mabry and Jamieson Popkin; her special niece and Goddaughter, Judith (Michael Sr.) O'Shea; and Goddaughter and niece, Alisa Krumnow, Brother-in-Law Clifford (Janice) McIntire, many nieces, nephews and extended family and her fur baby, Pebbles.
She was preceded in death by her husband; infant son, Anthony, parents; and sister, Margie (James) Hamblin, in-laws and the many stray pets she took in and cared for throughout her life.
Visitation for friends and family will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday, December 26, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will also be held at St. Ignatius Catholic Church on Saturday December 27 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Betty's family would like to thank the staffs at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg, St. Charles Hospital and St. Vincent Hospital and Otterbein Perrysburg for their special care. Memorial contributions in Betty's name can be directed to Shriners Hospital For Children, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
