Betty L. Young, 88, of Curtice, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at Little Sisters of the Poor. She was born on January 31, 1920, in Ross Township (Northwood), Ohio to John and Lovell (Brough) Weiland. She was an active member of First St. Marks Lutheran Church and a member of Troy-Webster Post 240 American Legion and Auxiliary, Luckey, OH. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and her church. She also enjoyed baking her familys favorite cookies and polka dancing.
Betty is survived by her children, Kathy (Larry) Darr, Rebecca (David) Massey, Carl, Gene (Donna), John, Wayne (Jolene); siblings, Bonnie Conley, Donnamae (Robert) King, Shari (Willard) Tiffany, Earl (Esther), Edwin (Lynn), Floyd, Fred (Donna) Weiland; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joseph Young; sisters, Lucille, Pearl and Lovell Weiland; grandsons, Ashley and Andrew, and daughter-in-law, Diane Young.
Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Saturday, May 10, 2008 from 2-9 p.m. and Sunday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in First St. Marks Lutheran Church on Monday at 1 p.m.. Interment will take place at Lake Township Cemetery. Visitation: Saturday 2-9 p.m. with Ladies Auxiliary Service at 7 p.m. & Sunday 2-9 p.m.
