Blanche DeBarr, 79, of Oregon, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2013 at Waterford of Levis Commons. Blanche was born on February 3, 1934 to Martin and Elizabeth (Korican) Miklosek. She graduated from Waite High School in 1952 and then went on to obtain her Bachelor'™s Degree in Education from the University of Toledo. She married Ernest DeBarr on December 7, 1963. Blanche taught at Jerusalem Elementary for 23 years before retiring in 1988. She took great pride in being a teacher and taking care of her students. She loved bargain shopping, spending time at their cottage with her family and attending family reunions. Blanche is survived by her son, Steve DeBarr; nephews, Mike Miklosek and Dave Kurth; and niece, Debra Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest; sisters Betty Crane, and Ann Kurth; and brother, Martin Miklosek. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday, November 8, 2013 from 4:00-9:00. Funeral services will take place in the funeral home on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. where interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made out to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, American Cancer Society, or The Humane Society.
