Robert E. Slater, 65, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on June 6, 2016 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 24 1951 to Charles and Betty (Donaldson) Slater. He worked at Jeep as an Overhead Crane Operator for many years, before retiring in 2003. Robert enjoyed fishing, gambling and spending time with his grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Deborah; children, Christina Harsh and Melissa (Bob Jablonski) Slater; grandchildren, Brett (Leilani) Slater, Cody Harsh, Dylan (Taylor) Harsh, Deborah Harsh, Jesse Morris and Corey Kolodziejski; siblings, Tom Slater, Jim Slater, Donna McGregor and Betty Bomia; special friend, Leon (Sue) McDaniel; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Jack, Ray, Richard and Larry.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private. Those wishing an expression of sympathy in Robert's memory are asked to consider the Wounded Warrior Project.
