Bryan Todd Kovarik, age 55, of Toledo, passed away June 4, 2015. He was born October 29, 1959 to Ambrose and Dorothy (Tober) Kovarik.
Bryan was a 1977 graduate of Waite High School. An avid sports fan, especially hockey, where he supported the Toledo Blades, Hornets, and Goaldiggers, New York Rangers and was a super fan of the Toledo Storm. Other favorites were the Cleveland Indians, the L.A./St. Louis Rams, and NASCAR. He played softball and basketball for Bethlehem Lutheran Church, and softball with the B. F. Blues, a team made up very special friends that traveled on their own custom bus.
Bryan was a skilled electrician, employed for many years by Craig Electric.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law John Barrett, nephew-in-law Michael Twining, and special friend Lucille Starnes.
He is survived by his siblings Joyce Barrett, Lynda (Michael) Fritz of Cincinnati, and David (Toni Leon) Kovarik of Albuquerque, New Mexico; nieces and nephews Lori Twining, Jenean (Brian) Ferree, Matthew Barrett (Merri), Adam (Meghan) Kovarik of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Lauren Kovarik of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Conor and Max Fritz of Cincinnati.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, on Tuesday, June 9 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 10th, at 11:00 AM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 106 W. Plumer St., Toledo, where the family will greet friends one hour prior. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Bryan's memory.
