Byron Place, 80, of East Toledo, passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at Orchard Villa Care Center. Byron was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 20, 1926, to Byron and Vera Place. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran, and was a member of the Ohio National Guard. Byron was the owner and operator of the Bryson's Stamp and Coin Company on White Street. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post #2510 and also served as district commander from 1983-1984. Byron was also a member of River East Association, and the Lake Township Police Department Association.
Surviving are his daughters, Kathy Brucker and Virginia Place; granddaughters, Mary (Brian) Horman and Debbie Brucker; great-grandsons, Brandon and Brady. Byron was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty on November 11, 2006; son, Ed Brucker; brothers, Donald and Forest.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-9 p.m. in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio. VFW Post #2510 service will be held Friday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services and interment will be private.
