Calvin F. Meyer, 76, of Oregon, OH, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2005, in the Lutheran Home at Toledo. He was born in Toledo, OH, on July 24, 1929, to Frederick and Helen (Meier) Meyer. Calvin had been employed by the BP Oil Company, for over 40 years as a process operator. He was known as a practical joker, and had a great sense of humor with a sweet tooth for ice cream and candy. Calvin loved to fish and hunt. He was an avid sports fan, especially for the Detroit Tigers. Calvins great love was for his grandchildren who meant the world to him.
Surviving are his daughters, Bonnie (Terry) Leichty and Diane (Christopher) Smith; grand-children, Tiffany Leichty, Kelly (Paul) Schilling, Philip Smith and Maridee Smith; sister, Esther Ames. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Roslyn Clark.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio, on Thursday, October 27, 2005, from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Williston Cemetery.
