Obituary

Carl R. Kerstetter, 83, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Carl's passing was exactly 12 years to the day his beloved wife Patricia had passed. He was born in Gowen City, Pennsylvania on August 13, 1938 to Rufus and Vertie (Long) Kerstetter. Carl was a proud graduate of Waite High School, Class of 1956. On February 22, 1958 he married the love of his life, Patricia (Yoder). He worked as a Budget Analyst for Sun Oil before retiring in 1991 after 30 years. He was a lifelong member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Carl had many fond memories of his time camping with his wife Patricia. Carl's daughters, Beth and Judy had a built in Mr. Fix it, there wasn't anything their dad couldn't fix or build. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes football fan and enjoyed attending the UT football games with his two best friends where he was a season ticket holder. Carl was a member of the Waite Alumni Association, Sun Oil Retirees Association and proud President of the Edgebrooke Home Owners Association. What Carl cherished most was his family and friends who will miss him dearly. Carl's daughters would like to thank his thoughtful neighbors for being so kind to their dad, especially Paul and Sheila Temple, Shirley Zablocki and her son Chris. Carl is survived by his daughters, Judy (Bill) Morse, Beth Kerstetter; granddaughters, Molly and Allison Morse; cat, Patsy; and best friends, Jack (Carol) Siebenaler and Doug (Sue) Kalmbach. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patricia; siblings, Lorraine (Glenn) Simmons, Margie (Billie) Morse, Neil Kerstetter; and four legged companion, Lucy, who will be with him. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel 440 South Coy Road, Oregon, Ohio on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Carl's name may be directed to the Pancreatic Action Cancer Network, Ebeid Hospice, Toledo Humane Society or Nightingales Harvest. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Ebeid Hospice as well as Flower Hospital floors 6 and ICU and ER for their compassionate care. They would also like to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Pohar and staff at James Cancer Center at Ohio State University during Carl's ongoing treatment as well as Dr. Muler and the nurses at the Hickman Cancer Center at Flower Hospital.
