Carol J. Bender Methena, 82, of Toledo and formerly of Walbridge, Ohio passed away March 27, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 6, 1930 to Bert and Ruth (Smith) Bender. Carol was a devoted mother and grandmother, who loved to crochet and knit. Surviving are her children, Kathleen Sharp Chasteen, James (Melanie) Sharp, Elizabeth (Robert) Curavo and Michael Methena, Diane Chasteen, Bill and Johnny Methena; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; siblings, Claudia Montry, Kenneth, Jim, Arthur, and Rollie Bender. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John W. Methena; sisters, Phyllis, Marianne, Ruth and Betty, and brother, Richard. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11 a.m. with entombment following in Restlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
