Carol J. Scheider-Cook, 91 of Oregon, Ohio passed away Sunday, February 3, 2019, at Browning Masonic Community Pathways. Carol was born in Toledo, Ohio on September 29, 1927 to Norman and Frieda (Schoenke) Newbury. She was a proud graduate of Clay High School. Carol was an active member of First St. Mark's Lutheran Church, as well as the Oregon Historical Society. Prior to retirement, she had worked for the Toledo Legal News. Carol loved her family and friends and will always be remembered for her compassionate and loving spirit. Carol is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark & Karen Scheider; daughter, Betsy Donehoo; stepsons, Richard, Robert and Joseph Cook; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren/great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Robert Scheider and Joseph Cook; sister, Doris Shaffer. Special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at Browning Masonic Pathways in Waterville for their extraordinary love and care of Carol and how they have touched our lives. Thank you also to Ohio Living Hospice. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at First St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1121 Grasser Street, Oregon, Ohio on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 11:00 am where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:30 am. A luncheon celebration will follow at the church. Private inurnment will take place at Toledo Memorial Park.
