Carole L. Whaley, 79, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2015, surrounded by her family. Carole was born on September 16, 1935 to Thomas and Helen (Sparks) Renfro. On May 28, 1958, she married Kenneth Whaley. For many years, Carole was employed with the Toledo Academy of Medicine. Her hobbies included crafting ceramics, playing cards, and joining her friends in a game of bingo while camping at Camp Di Clair on Nettle Lake.
Carole is survived by her husband of 56 years, Kenneth; daughter, Christine Whaley; sisters, Shannon (Larry) Ridens and Dianne ( Mike Bogart) Lutts; sister-in-law, Joanne Thomas; brother-in-law, Richard Horner; dear friends, Chris (Bob) Kilburn; dog, KiKi; along with many nieces, nephews, and loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phyllis Horner; and brother, Kenneth Thomas.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 23, 2015 at 10:30 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
