Caroline M. Reddington, 91 of Curtice, Ohio passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Northwest Ohio Hospice Toledo with her family by her side. Caroline was born on December 26, 1925 in Jerusalem Twp to William F. and Elsie E. (Buss) Gahler. Car, as known to her siblings was born on the family farm in Jerusalem Township and lived her entire life on the same road, moving just a quarter of a mile from the farm with her husband, Ralph W. Reddington. While growing up Caroline was her father's designated farmhand, driving the tractor, milking the cows and anything else dealing with farming. Once married, Caroline still enjoyed the hard work of keeping the family home for her husband and their three children. Caroline also worked at Hirzel Canning and retired from H&R Block after working part time for 31 years. She also enjoyed gardening, canning, bowling and making apple butter. She was a faithful member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. Surviving are her children, Mary E. (James Nowak) Reddington, William R. Reddington, Patrick A. (Lori) Reddington; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sister, Alice (Jim) Diefenthaler. Caroline was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her sister, Evelyn Sorensen. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-8 pm at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road and where her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Private interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
