Carolyn J. Bartley, 76, passed away on May 16, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 5, 1940 to Lawrence and Marion (Shaw) Ankney. For over 24 years, Carolyn was a secretary for the City of Oregon with the Street Dept. and the Mayor's Office before she retired in 2000. She was active in the Cooley Canal Auxiliary and the Jerusalem Township VFD Auxiliary and TOPS Club. Carolyn was an avid reader and enjoyed cross stitching, target shooting, and camping. She was an exceptional cook and loved spending time with her family; especially her grandchildren.
Carolyn is survived by her loving husband of 55 yrs, William; sons, Dale (Tammy), William (Crystal), James (Jennifer); daughter-in-law, Colleen; grandchildren, Brittany, Lauren, Jacob, Daniel, Amanda; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Kieran, Faith, Liam, Cyle, Luke. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Roland; grandsons, Brandon and Brett.
Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with the recitation of the rosary at 4:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Friday, at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1105, N. Elliston Rd., Bono, Ohio where the family will greet friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Williston Cemetery. Those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, or Jerusalem Township Volunteer Fire Department.
