Cedric (Cid) Leroy Fredericks, 96, of Toledo, OH passed away June 28, 2004 in Foundation Park Care Center.He was born in Toledo, Ohio on March 12, 1908 to William D. and Mabel (Carr) Fredericks. In 1935, Cid graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Cid began his career as a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors, Local 44. Throughout his life of 96 years, Cid remained a staunch and vocal proponent of labor unions and the rights of working families. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth (American Federation of Teachers) and is survived by his sons, John, with the Communication Workers of America (Karlene with the National Education Association) and Robert with the International Union of Elevator Constructors (Anne) Fredericks; granddaughters, Sarah, Holly and Jessica Fredericks. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday from 5-9 pm where funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11 am.
