Obituary

Celia Mae Cox, 81, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio - Toledo Campus. Celia was born on May 31, 1944 to Elmer and Dorothy (Habel) McCallum in Millbury, Ohio.

On July 27, 1964, she married the love of her life, George Franklin. Their marriage was a true partnership that spanned 56 years, filled with shared memories and unwavering commitment until his passing in 2021. Together, they built a life centered on family and faithfulness.

A 1963 graduate of Olney High School, Celia carried her strong work ethic throughout her life. She worked as a stock clerk at Rowe Industry for 33 years, where she was known for her reliability and steady presence.

Outside of work, Celia found joy in the simple pleasures that mattered most. She loved playing cards with her best friend, sharing laughter and companionship over many hands dealt. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She adored her grandchildren and took every opportunity to spoil them with love, attention, and pride.

Celia will be remembered for her devotion to those she loved and the steady, caring presence she brought into their lives.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Charlotte (Jeff) Kelly, Janet (Rodney) Amerson, Danny (Holy) Cox, James (Sarah) Cox; 5 grandchildren; and brothers, Lawrence (Linda) and Howard (Mary) McCaullum.

Celia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George; and children, Beverly and Berry Cox.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 13, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
