Charles L. Altenbaugh 60, of Toledo, passed away July 9, 2004 at Toledo Hospital. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 16, 1943 to Robert and Loretta (Reihing) Altenbaugh. Charles was employed by Norfolk and Southern Rail Road as a bridge operator and was a member of Our Lady Fatima Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed playing pogo on the computer and bowling. Surviving are his mother, Loretta; children, Charles II , Christine (Robert) Bartic, Cary (Cindy) and Christian; grandchildren Ashley, Adam, April, Heather, Erin, Kala, Joseph, Nicole and Christian; great-grandchildren, Trey, Amara and Alexis; brother, Michael (Peggy); sister, Elizabeth (Ron) Rowland; his dear friend Gypsy and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert K. and brother, Robert J. Altenbaugh. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Monday, July 12, 2004 from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m.. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Ronald McDonald House.
