Charles R. Duvendack Sr., 74, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017, surrounded by his family. Chuck was born on November 10, 1942 to Roy and Ruth (Miller) Duvendack. In 1960, Chuck graduated from DeVilbiss High School. Chuck served in the United States Army for four years obtaining the rank of SP5 . He served in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1965. On April 15, 1967, he married the love of his life, Sharon Sahadi. Chuck worked as an operating engineer with Fondessy Enterprises and Envirosafe for 35 years. He operated many types of heavy equipment including the largest cranes. An avid outdoorsman, Chuck enjoyed hunting, fishing on Lake Erie, and was a passionate patriot and supporter of the 2nd amendment. Chuck served as president of the New Sportsman's Club in Millbury, Ohio, and was a member of the NRA, Dunberger American Legion Post, IUOE Local 18, and Wolf Creek Sportsman's Club.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sharon; children, Charlie (Angi) Duvendack Jr. and Stephanie (Dan) Killen; granddaughters, Izzy and Gabby Duvendack; sister, Marilyn Donoff; along with many nieces, nephews, loving family members and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive Friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 3:00 pm -8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 13, 2017 at 10:00 am in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Dunberger American Legion Post or James "Wes" Hancock Oregon Senior Center.
