Charles E. Flack, 83 of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully in the home of his son on Saturday, March 3, 2012. Charles was born on April 8, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio to Charles G. and Bessie (Lockwood) Flack. He was an U.S. Army Veteran serving stateside during the Korean War with the 101st Airborne Division, Screaming Eagles, at Fort Sill. While at Fort Sill he instructed radio and electronics. Charles was employed with Willys Overland- Jeep for 30 years retiring in 1976 where he worked as a metal finisher in the paint dept. 270. After retiring from Jeep he worked for 10 years at Glass Tech. He also was an instructor at R.E.T.T.S Electronics School. In his spare time he loved taking photos of his family and nature. His other hobbies were his computer, and his Aries Instrument Company, where he designed a battery tester and auto electronics. Charles also owned Flack Radio Shop.
Surviving are his son, Charles D. (Cheryl); daughter, Carolyn (Peter) Maxwell; grandchildren Peter R. Maxwell, Matthew (Emily) Maxwell, Danielle Palicki and Charles M. (Christine) Flack; great-grandchildren, Haley, Noah Palicki, Felicity, Charles R., Wiloughby, Macauley Flack; brother, Paul Flack. Charles was preceded in death by his wife Marilyn, and his parents.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon, Chapel 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday from 2-9 p.m. and where his funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 am. Interment will follow in Williston Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Charles'™s memory are asked to consider Bono Baptist Church or Church of the Cross.
