Charles R. Hagan Charlie, 72, of Toledo, Ohio and formerly of Bastian, VA passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2002 in his home from cancer. Charlie was born in Roanoke, Virginia on April 8, 1930 to Oscar C. and Opal (Rowland) Hagan. He served in the army before moving to Toledo. Charlie worked on the lakes for eighteen years,retiring in 1993 from the Oglebay Norton Line. After retiring, Charlie worked for the BP service stations most recently at Navarre & Coy Road.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 34 years, Diane; sons, Charles (Jennifer) and Greg (Tammy) Hagan; 8 grandchildren, Anthony, Janette, Marissa, Nathaniel, Justin, Brittney, Samantha and Kristina; brothers, Bernard (Louise), Paul, and Lawrence Hagan of VA;sisters, Dora Pritchard and Carol (Will) Pauley of VA, Beulah Pritchett and Ruby (Mack) Estep of W. VA, Jean Gore and Barbara Wilson of Ohio and Sister-in-law, Betty Hagan of VA. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter; parents; two brothers and one sister.
Friends may call at Eggleston-Meinert Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Avenue on Friday, November 29, from 4-9 p.m., with funeral services being held at 8 p.m., officiated by Pastor Daniel Ellis. The family suggests that contributions in Charlies memory be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the charity of the donors choice.
Charlies family wish to express their appreciation to Hospice for all their help and kindness during this time. Charlie had accepted Jesus into his heart and is now at home in heaven.
