Obituary

Charles W. Justus, 74, of Toledo, OH passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2005. Charles was born in Toledo on February 8, 1931 to John and Frieda (Perry) Justus. He was employed at the Sun Oil Corporation for 38 years retiring in 1989. Mr. Justus was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where he served as chairman of the trustees. He also was a member of the Toledo Swiss Singers, serving as president for several years and a member of Moose Lodge. Charlie and Kathy were avid motorcyclist for 20 years, riding through every state and Canada. Surviving are his special wife of 34 years, Kathryn ; brother, Bob (Joyce); sister, Phyllis (Bob) Emch; children, Cindy (Chon) Enriquez, Darla Gilkerson, Denise Neal, Rich (Cathey) Vail, David Vail, Diane (John) Piotrowski and Daniel (Fiona) Vail; he was known as Harley Charlie to 16 grandchildren and Goofy Grandpa to 9.5 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Justus. Friends and family may visit from 2 until 9pm on Friday, March 18, 2005 in the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road where memorial services will be conducted at 7 pm. Memorial contributions in Charles name may be made to Salem United Methodist Church General Fund. The Justus family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Charles.
