Charles Chuck Meinke, 58 of Curtice, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Monday, January 9, 2006. Chuck was born in Port Clinton, Ohio on May 23, 1947 to Vernon and Hazel (Weidner) Meinke. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Chuck was employed as an iron worker with Local #55 for 32 years, retiring in 2000. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Blackberry. Chuck loved fishing and hunting and was a big Ohio State Buckeye fan but his biggest thrill was watching his grandchildren's sporting events. Surviving are his wife, Becky; children, Dana (Kevin) Shull, Jed (Stephanie) Meinke and Luke Meinke; mother, Hazel Meinke; brothers and sisters, Gary (Lariane) Meinke, Margo (John) Wolff, Marcia (Bob) Amonette; sister-in-law, Brenda Meinke; grandchildren, Dominick, Riley, Sydnie, Seth and Alexis. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon; brother, Richard and niece, Micki. Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH on Thursday, January 12, 2006 from 2-9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted in St. Peter's Lutheran Church, St. Rt. 579 on Friday at 11:00 a.m where the family will greet friends one-hour prior to the service.
