Charles W. Shrader Jr., 88, passed away November 9, 2011 at Perrysburg Care and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on May 30, 1923 to Charles Sr. and Rose (Stein) Shrader. Charles was a U.S. army veteran of World War II and served in the S. Pacific. He had been employed as a truck driver and packer for the Strong Electric Company, retiring in 1980. Charles was a member of the East Toledo Senior Center, D.A.V., ETCO, U.A.W. Local #12 and Good Shepherd Church. He was an honorary graduate of Waite High School, which he received because of leaving high school to serve in the war.
Surviving are his sons, Robert (Brenda) and Charles III (Sandy) Shrader; grandchildren, Charles W. IV, Jaime, Shawn and Randy; great grandchildren, Joseph, Jacob, Emma, Lorelei and Kayden; adopted sister, Rita Farnsworth. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Natalie; son, Larry Lee Shrader and brother, Frank Shrader.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2 to 8 pm in the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road. Funeral services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Expressions of sympathy in Charles'™ memory can be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor or Perrysburg Care and Rehabilitation Center.
