Cheryl S. Moore, 62, of Oregon, Ohio passed away on December 30, 2014 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on October 16, 1952 to John and Julia (Cluckey) Zam. Cherie was a devoted wife of 41 years to her husband Michael, married June 2, 1973. She was also a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and employee. She was a natural multi-tasker, known for making everything beautiful, including her home which is where she found the most comfort surrounded by family and friends who were always welcome. Her love of cooking and scrap booking will be memories cherished forever. Cherie had an eye for perfection. Cherie'™s family was amazed at how she found time do everything, from family life to work, making everyone and everything special. When she would ask how you were doing, she listened she remembered and she meant it. When telling a story, she could command a room with details and humor. She always had the right words to say to everyone.
Cherie was very well known during her time at Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School. In her 23+ year position as Director of Special Events and Alumni Relations, she worked with many different people over that time span. She put her heart and soul into every event that she was involved in, from planning the first Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony with Mike Ditka to helping coordinate reunions and the annual Party in the Parking Lot gatherings.
She performed many other duties and capacities over the years at Stritch, including various school and alumni publications, fundraising drives, coordinating 8th grade visitations, reunions, high school open houses, Champagne Steak Dinners, Reverse Raffles, Silent Auctions, St. Patrick'™s Day parties, Tree and Stone placement projects and the list goes on. Cherie was an extremely helpful person and was respected in the community.
Cherie is survived by her loving husband, Michael Moore; children, Nicole (Dan) Smith, Lisa (Chris) Ciborowski; and Michael (Angie) Moore; grandchildren, Haydn, Hudson, Hope, Kailyn, Delaney, Brennan and Carter; sisters, Kathy (Ron) Smith and Trina (Wally) Griffith; brother John (Sonny) Zam; and many other sister and brother in laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; mother and father in-laws and brother in-laws.
Cherie will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and 'œNana'.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Friday from 2-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Epiphany of the Lord - St. Thomas Aquinas Parish on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and where the family will greet friends at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Cherie'™s name can be donated to her family, to be divided among Cherie'™s favorite organizations.
