Christ L. Ackerman, 96, of East Toledo, passed away, September 4, 2005 in his home. Christ was born on June 11, 1909 to Christopher and Margaret (Moser) Ackerman. Mr. Ackerman was a very special man. He was good and kind to anyone who was in need of help. In fact, this year he and Harvey Greene planted 10 flats of flowers before he became ill. Dad's two yards always looked like God's special garden. The flower garden was his pride – no one planted flowers like Daddy Chris. Daddy Chris worked as the chief engineer of St. Vincent Hospital for 30 years. Previously he was employed at the Pure Oil Company, and at 80 he was still distributing tickets for Atlas Travel Company. Mr. Ackerman's memberships included Craftsman's Union of Engineers, current member of Paragon Lodge and past master of Yondota Masonic Lodge, the East Toledo Hi Twelve Club, Zenobia Shrine Drum Corp. and the Scottish Rite.
Christ is survived by his daughter, Darlene (Bud) Eggart; son, Del (Nancy) Ackerman of Naples Fl; grandchildren, Tanya Ackerman, Kristi (Dan) Pfouts, Todd (Carol) Eggart; great grandchildren, Justin, Christopher and Matthew Pfouts, Amanda Eggert and Elizabeth Ackerman; special friend, Harvey Greene. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Madeline.

We, the family, want to thank Harvey Greene who has always been there for Dad. He was like a special brother.
