Christine S. Chapman Monroe, 74, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully October 4, 2012 following a courageous and dignified battle against cancer. She was born April 7, 1938 in Toledo, Ohio as the only child to Demitrius and Gladys Dedakis.
Chris was a 1956 graduate of Scott High School and attended University of Toledo. As a longtime majorette she shared her many years experience with hundreds of area youth as Director of the Ambassador'™s Baton & Drum Corp. After her children were raised Chris became a dynamic member of the Manhattan Dance Company; performing in the Macy'™s Day Christmas parade and traveling throughout the United States in tap dancing competitions.
Chris was an owner-operator of Chapman'™s Quick Print for 40 years, retiring in 2009; and is fondly known to many as the 'œQuick Print Lady'. Chris was an active member in many civic and business organizations including the East Toledo Club, River East Association and the International Park Board.
Chris loved spending time with her family and friends, entertaining, dancing, and working. Chris cherished every moment she had with those she loved and will be greatly missed by her loving husband, Donald K. Monroe Jr.; children, Roxanne (Jeff) Damask, Greg (Carol) Chapman, Stephanie (Bruce) Davis, Sheila M. (Randy) Hayes, Marc A. (Donna) Monroe; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S.
