Christopher Herrera Jr., age 71, of Toledo passed away May 4th, 2023 at Toledo Hospital. Christopher was born to Christopher and Julia (Chavira) Herrera on January 2, 1952 in Oregon, Ohio. Christopher first and foremost loved Jesus. He also loved cooking, grilling (and feeding people), playing music and working in his garage—he always had some type of project in the works. Most Fridays you could find him at the Toledo Gospel Mission, bringing homemade a homemade meal and a message from the Bible to share with the men there.  He was a member of the Local 500 retiring after over 30 years.

Christopher, loving husband, father, grandfather (Papa) and great-grandfather is survived by his wife, of almost 30 years Diana Herrera; his children, Vince (Nicole), Gina (Brian Extine) and Israel (Anna); grandchildren, Nathaniel (Joy), Isaac (Charissa), Brice Extine, Abigail Herrera, Jacob Herrera, Lily Extine, Christian Herrera and Ava Herrera; and great-grandchildren, Judah and Elena. He is also survived by brothers and sisters, Julian, Mary (Ismael,) Lorenzo (Jan), Dolores (Carlos), Anita (Lee), Dahlia (Fernando), Fammy, Rosalina, Rosairo (Jerry), and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Eva; brother, Tony; brother-in-law, Jim Dempsey; and sister-in-law, Clara Herrera.

Family and friends may come celebrate Christopher's life at The Rock Church, 4058 Starr Ave in Oregon on Saturday, May 27th from 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm. There will be a fellowship meal for the family from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm.
