Christopher A. Ricci
March 7, 1960 – November 20, 2025
Christopher A. Ricci, 65, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on November 20, 2025. Born on March 7, 1960, to the late Frank and Suzanne (Bartus) Ricci, Chris lived a life marked by intelligence, curiosity, deep faith, and a profound appreciation for the natural world.
A graduate of Central Catholic High School, Chris worked for many years at Woodville Surplus as a department manager, where he was known for his knowledge, attention to detail, and willingness to help. But his truest passions lived outside the workplace. Chris was a lifelong hiker and nature photographer, famous among family and friends for discovering hidden waterfalls and unmarked trails. He saw the world with the eyes of both a scientist and a poet — a keen observer who found meaning in the smallest details of creation.
Chris was exceptionally intelligent and spent years studying mathematics, science, and Scripture. He authored two works reflecting his passions: False Doctrine and the Wrath of God, exploring Biblical teaching and prophecy, and Squaring the Circle with Golden Ratio Constructions, a mathematical paper demonstrating his lifelong fascination with geometric theory. He spent his final years immersed in deep research, always eager to learn and understand more.
His faith journey began early, shaped profoundly by an Outward Bound expedition that stirred big questions about life, purpose, and God. That search eventually led him to visit Israel, a life-changing experience that deepened his spiritual commitment. Chris was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, and its closure in 2015 grieved him deeply - yet his love of God never wavered. He continued to study Scripture daily, finding peace in prayer and in the beauty of God's creation.
Surviving in his family are his wife Cynthia Ricci, son, Christopher Ricci Jr.; step children, Samantha (Matt) Timmons and Scott (Rachel) Hartman; grandchildren, Maisy, Elliot, Sabrina and Sophia; and siblings, Frank (Jana) Ricci Jr., Tina (Marshal) Tucker and Brandy Alexander; extended family, Michelle Myneder; Gina Leeper and Mia Leeper; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents.
