Cindy M. Akers, 59, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital. Cindy was born in Toledo, Ohio on August 12, 1953 to Thomas and Elsie (Sherburne) Pappas. On July 24, 1974, she married John Akers. Cindy was employed as a customer service representative with Southland Corporation. She enjoyed listening to country music. Her true passion was spending time with and caring for her family. Cindy is survived by her husband of 38 years, John; mother, Elsie; son, Ray (Jo Beth) Pappas; grandchildren, Alexis, Anna, Angela, Kevin, Shadiyah, and Kollin Pappas; siblings, Sue (John) Wambles, Wayne (Shannon) Pappas, Mark Abner, and Alexandria Pappas; along with many nieces, nephews, and loving family members. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents. Private services will be held. Memorials may be directed to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure or a charity of the donor'™s choice.
