Obituary

Clara Elizabeth (Bihn) Intagliata, age 78, of Northwood, Ohio died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 21st at ProMedica Flower Hospital while recovering from recent back surgery.

Clara was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 20th, 1944 to Lucille and Urban Bihn. She was a 1962 Notre Dame High School graduate. During high school Clara met her first and only love Jim and they married soon after.

She is survived by her children and grandchildren: Kent & Linda (Joshua, Dr. Gina and Isabella) Intagliata, Kevin & Maureen (Noah, Gabe and Zane) Intagliata and Tracy & Trinidad (Jacob and Dominic) Rodriguez. Brother Karl Bihn and Brother-in-law Frank Grzegorczyk, three nephews and their spouses. She was preceded in death by: her husband Jim, of 59 years, daughter Tammi Intagliata-Bowman, and sister-in-law Rosemary Grzegorczyk.

Clara worked at Sportfame, Toledo Edison, and after many years as the director of customer service she retired from The Toledo Blade. A few months later, she returned to work for the Village of Walbridge as an office secretary until the time of her passing.

Clara was a very busy person; attending church every Sunday, playing bunco, and traveling to new places. She enjoyed going to the theater but cooking was her passion (and eating was Jim's).

Family and friends raved about her wonderful culinary delights. Because of Clara's love for cooking, we came across a very simple analogy that we feel she used to connect with relatives. It goes like this: "Family: the secret ingredient." We would often say that Clara should be considered a candidate for sainthood for putting up with her husband Jim's shenanigans.

Clara had a strong Catholic faith and a commitment to family and fun. Her favorite pastimes included family dinners, telling stories and making memories. She was a loving, kind and generous woman who cared for others above herself. Her selfless spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

The family will receive guests on Thursday January 26th at Eggleston, Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home at 440 S. Coy,Oregon Chapel, Oregon, Ohio from 2 pm - 8 pm, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:30 pm.

On Friday, January 27th, at St Jerome Church, located at 300 Warner St, in Walbridge, Ohio, friends and family may say their last goodbyes beginning at 9 am with 1-hour visitation. Funeral Mass will begin promptly at 10:00 am with Fr. Eric Schild as presider and Fr. Scott Woods as co-presider.Family members wish to thank ProMedica Flower Hospital (7th floor) and ProMedica Oncology team for their kind and compassionate care.

In accordance with Clara's wishes, in lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in her name to St. Jerome Catholic Church, 300 Warner St., Walbridge, Ohio 43465.
