Clare H. Dewey, 79, of Curtice, OH passed away in the Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, OH on Wednesday, May 9, 2007. He was born on November 8, 1927 in Adrian, MI to Ray and Gladys (Vesey) Dewey. Clare worked as a dispatcher with the Toledo Terminal Railroad (CSX) for 39 years retiring in 1987. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and a member of the Toledo Model Railroad Engineers HO Scale Club since 1952. Clare loved square dancing and pursued calling squares to level C1.
Surviving are his daughter, Debbie (Rich) Schneider; sons, Jeff (Kathleen) and Roger Dewey; 5 grandchildren: 3 great grandchildren and special friend, Dolores Johnson and her children, Michael, Mark (Vicki), James (Joan), David (Kelly), Susan (Michael); 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jane and brother Ashley.
There will be no visitation and interment in Lyons Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions to the Ohio Veterans Home 3416 Columbus Ave. Sandusky, OH 44870. Arrangements are being handled by the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel.
