Clarence "Ike" Schutt, 81, of East Toledo, passed away Friday, January 25, 2008, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. Clarence was born in Toledo on April 2, 1926, to William and Nellie (Shoviar) Schutt. He served in the U. S. Navy. Clarence retired from Bingham Stamping Company, he also had worked many years at the shipping docks in East Toledo. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and also a member of the Barvarian Sports Club. In his spare time Clarence enjoyed boating, swimming, fishing and spending time at his cottage at Rose Lake. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Joanne; sister, Sally Spaulding; many loving nieces and nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews. One very special great great niece, Susie and great great great niece, Juliana Louise. Visitation will be held at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Sunday from 2-8 p.m. and where his funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Clarence's name are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Mark Lutheran Church. God grant that I may live to fish until my dying day; and when it comes to my last cast, then I do humbly pray that in the Lord's big landing net I'm peacefully asleep and in his mercy find that I am good enough to keep.
