Clarence L. Tye, 68, passed away on Saturday April 30, 2005 in his home. He was born on April 3, 1937 to John and Etha (Jones) Tye. Clarence married his wife, Alice Faye, on December 25, 1955. He was in employed with Hydra-Matic for 30 years retiring in 1987. Clarence was a member of North End Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a trustee and a Sunday School Superintendent. He also loved fishing, gardening, and woodworking. Clarence is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Alice; children, Clarence Brady (Beverly) Tye, Carolyn E. (Terry) Ward, and Alice M. (Bryan) Hartford; mother, Etha Tye; brothers, Clayton (Lois), Joe Bill (Brenda), and Johnnie Tye; grandchildren, Brandy Gillis, Jeremy, Scott, and Megan Ward, Becky Glombowski, Ashley and Hannah Hartford; great grandchildren, Layla, Emma and John and many nieces and nephews. Clarence was preceded in death by his father, John S. Tye. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road at Starr Ave. on Monday, May 2, 2005 from 2-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday at 1 p.m. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
