Clifford F. Berger, 79, of Millbury, OH passed away Sunday, September 25, 2005 in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. He was born in Tiffin, OH on September 3, 1926 to Clifford L. and Hazel (Beachner) Berger. Cliff attended Waite High School. Mr. Berger was veteran of the US Army, where he received a Purple Heart for his heroism during the battle of the bulge in World War II. He was employed by Conrail as a clerk and served as agent at Lakefront Docks before his retirement in 1988. He was member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and enjoyed playing the lottery, jazz music, talk radio. Cliff also enjoyed dancing and where he was known as "Flash" by his friends.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Jean; son, Jeffrey (Joan) Berger, daughters, Jacquelyn (Adam) Radloff and Judith (Tom) Polster; brother, Thomas ; sister Wilma Teems; grandchildren, Tamara, Tracy, Ron, Justin, Alyssa, Michael and Jia; 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul and Charles Berger and sister, Henrietta Donaldson.
Family and friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Thursday, September 28, 2005 from 2 to 9 pm. Funeral services will begin in the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 a.m. and proceed to St. Ignatius Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00a.m. Interment will follow in St. Ignatius Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy in Clifford's memory can be made to either Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Ignatius Church.
