Obituary

Clyde James "C.J." "2x4" Phalen, 67, of Oregon, Ohio passed away December 3, 2003 in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Ft. Myers, FL. He was born on July 22, 1936 in Toledo, OH to the late Jack and Irene (Kosmatka) Phalen. C.J. served in the US Marines during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a truck driver for over 30 years at Interstate Systems, Central Transportation and KOT, retiring in 1995. James was a retired member of the Teamsters Local 20, a member St. Ignatius Church and a lifetime member of the DUX Motorcycle Club. C.J. volunteered his time driving the bus for the Glassman Drum & Bugle Corp. Preceding C.J. in death was his wife of 40 years, Mary Ann. Surviving are his life-long friend, Virginia "Pearl" Kline; children, Nadine (Dennis) Eischen, Christine (Richard) Kollarik, James (Cheryl) and Jeff (Cindi) Phalen; sisters, Jacquenlyn (Ron) Bielinski, Shirley (Albert) Hymore, Annette (Tootie) Dzienny and Patricia (Paul) Walser; grandchildren, Dennis Jr., Richie Jr., Elizabeth, Devin, Samantha, Caitlin, Jessica, Rachel and Olivia and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 8, 2003 from 2 until 9 pm in the Eggleston-Meinert-Pavley Funeral Home, 440 S. Coy Rd., Oregon, OH. Funeral services will begin on Tuesday in the funeral home at 9:30 am and proceed to St. Ignatius Church for a Memorial Mass at 10 am. Memorial contributions may be sent to the American Lung Association. Visitation: Visitation Times 2-9 Monday Coy Road Chapel
