Colleen J. Ault, 95, passed away on March 1, 2022. She was born in Toledo, Ohio to Minnie and Charles McVicker on May 16, 1926. Colleen attended Waite High School and Davis Business College. She worked for 38 years at the White Tower Restaurants office, retiring in 1989. Colleen also worked for 11 years at the Area Office on Aging of Northwest Ohio, retiring from there in 2004. After retiring, she was a volunteer at St. Charles Hospital Radiology Department for 5 years. She is a long-time member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church where she was on the Altar Guild and sang in the choir for many years. Colleen was a member of the VFW Post #4906 Ladies Auxiliary for more than 50 years, and a member of the St. Charles Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, reading, knitting, playing cards, traveling, going to casinos.
Colleen is survived by her daughter, Pam Knestrick; son-in-law, John Sweeney; grandchildren, Shauna (Michael) Kanter and Robert Ault; great-grandchildren, Taylar Ault, Savannah Ault, Brianna Halm, Kirra Kanter, Michael Reed Kanter, Shaun Kanter; great-great grandchildren, Mia Dominguez and Noah Redman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Minnie McVicker; brothers, Richard and Donald McVicker; husband, Robert Ault; son, Gary Ault; daughters, Diane Sweeney and Colleen Chmielowicz; grandson, Todd Ault.
Visitation will be held at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. on Sunday, March 6, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a VFW Service at 6;00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 798 S. Coy Rd. where family and friends can begin to gather at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.
The family thanks the staff at Genoa Care Center and at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Hospice of Northwest Ohio or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
