Connie Dioletti, 91, of Oregon, Ohio passed away September 10, 2008 at Orchard Villa. She was born December 7, 1916, one of 9 children, in Endicott, New York to Victoria and Antonio Pirolli. Connies family moved to Toledo, Ohio where she met her husband of 58 years, Nicholas Dioletti. Connies greatest loves were the Church, her husband, and her family. Weekly family dinners, Saturday visits to her grandchildren, and Sunday "after church" dinners were standard events. On any given day, one could enter her house to the aroma of homemade spaghetti sauce simmering, freshly baked bread and baked goods, and mountains of homemade noodles drying on the table. "Grandma D" was one of the greatest Italian cooks in Toledo; everything tasted better at her house. Connie was a lifelong member of Holy Rosary Church in East Toledo where she was active in the Rosary Altar Society, Saint Ann Sodality, and noodle making for the annual Spaghetti Dinners and festivals. Due to the closing of Holy Rosary, she became a member of Saint Ignatius Church in Oregon. She held a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and taught many of her grandchildren how to pray the rosary. Her faith was witnessed by all who met her. Connie is survived by her sister, Mary Rudd and sister-in-law, Mary "Sweeny" Pirolli; Children: Victoria (Pasquale) Cicora, Josephine (Michael) Hentges, Dominic (Judy) Dioletti; Grandchildren: Patricia Cicora (Michael Cerveny), Anthony (Claudette) Cicora, Michael Hentges (John Crandall), Andrew (Lori) Hentges, Connie (Nathan) Hurley, Matthew (Christina) Dioletti, Kristy (Steven) Dazley; Great-grandchildren: GSM3 Brandon (Jennifer) Cloyne USN, Jillian Cloyne; Alex Cicora, Mark Scans, Elizabeth Scans, Jacob Shepard; Alaina Curry, Steven Dazley, Jr.; Danielle Hentges, Hannah Waldron; Mitchell Hurley, Mason Hurley; Olivia Dioletti; Great-great-grand-children Kelsey Keen and baby Cloyne due in May, 2009; and many nieces and nephews. Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Dioletti; Sisters: Theresa Colapietro and Angela Schiavone; Brothers: Albert, Vincent, Peter, Martin and Dominic Pirolli. Connie will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd, Oregon, on Sunday September 14, 2008 from 2 until 9 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, September 15, 2008 10:00 a.m. at Saint Ignatius Catholic Church, Stadium Rd, Oregon.
