Connie Monk, 64, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born on November 13, 1951 to Charles and Ruby (Chapman) Smoot. Connie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandma, great grandma and daughter, as well as the 4th oldest sibling of 13 children. She retired in 1992 from the Lutheran Orphan's and Old Folks Home Society, then went on to do home health care for a number of years. Connie loved her Lord, cooking, being a grandma and was very lucky in gambling. She was a simple but good woman.
Connie is survived by her husband, Jan; daughter, Kelly Krueger and son Ryan Monk; mother, Ruby Smoot; sisters, Glenna Vinet, Tami Frampton, Marcy Ambersen, Joyce Smoot; brothers, Mark Smoot, Dave Smoot, Ken Smoot; 9 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving father; brothers, Terry Smoot, Richard Smoot, Charles Smoot, Jr.; sisters, Christine Smoot, Patty Blime; niece Kimberly Smoot; nephews, Corey Smoot and Chucky Smoot.
The family will receive guests on Saturday, January 16, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd. where services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Contributions may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo Center.
