Constance Helen Szymanski, 79, of Luther Hills Circle died comfortably Thursday in her home. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 17, 1933 to Francisco Lawecki and Catharina Duris. Connie was employed at Libbey Glass Inc. for 15 years and retired in 1991. She was a life-long member of Holy Rosary Parish. Connie took pleasure in being with her grandchildren and traveling to Las Vegas. You could always find her at the MGM in Detroit playing the Blazing 7'™s. She also looked forward to monthly date nights with her brother. Connie leaves precious memories to her children, Stephen (Tina), Alan (Kelly), Kathleen (Don) Sweet, Darleen Fitch, Donna Szymanski, Denice (Thomas) Giovanoli, Annette Alfaro, Toni-Lynn Polsdorfer and Rene Szymanski; brother and sister in law, Frank and Barbara Lawecki; and special friends, Ignacio Delgado, Greg Emahiser and James Johnstone; 27 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband of 43 years Stanley A. Szymanski; and her faithful canine companion, Little Miss Kaleigh Ann. Friends may visit at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Rd., on Monday, June 25, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with rosary services at 4:00 p.m. Prayers will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. and proceed to St. Stephen Catholic Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank Cindy Nye, the caring Hospice nurse who tended to Connie in her final weeks of life. Visitation: Monday, June 25, 2012 from 2 -8 with rosary at 4:00 p.m. Services: Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Catholic Church. Prayers begin at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home.
