Corinne I. Duquette Fries, 97, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away September 17, 2007, at the Lutheran Home at Toledo. She was born in North Baltimore, Ohio on October 14, 1909, to Charles and Margie (Pontius) Royer. In the past, Corinne had been employed as a sales clerk at LaSalle & Koch's Dept. Store. She regularly attended services at the Lutheran Home at Toledo.
Surviving are her husband, James; children, Mary Lou Gargac, Owen Duquette and Ruth Ann (Ernst) Tepper; stepdaughter, Linda (Charles) Mataszyski; sister, Irma Teeter; 11 grand-children, 13 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 13 step great-grandchildren. Corinne was preceded in death by her first husband, Lucien A. Duquette; children, Lucien C. Duquette, Leo J., Gerald L., Jimmy; great-grandchild, Brad J. Gargac; son-in-law, Steve "Curly" Gargac; sisters, Bertie, Esther, Thelma, and brother, Alton.
There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. in the Lutheran Home at Toledo Chapel, 2519 Seaman Street, Toledo, Ohio. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. Those wishing to make an expression of sympathy in Corinne's memory are asked to consider the Lutheran Home at Toledo Activity Department or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
