Pete Woolsey, Jr., 82, of Millbury, Ohio, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. He was born in French Lick, Indiana to Clyde and Hazel (McDonald) Woolsey on February 10, 1933. Pete served in the Army during the Korean War and went on to become a police officer working for the Indianapolis and Kentucky police forces. He then retired from Pacific International Express as a truck driver in 1990. Pete attended Calvary Lutheran Church. He belonged to the Toledo Bowling Association, was a bowling league officer and bowled with the Saturday Night Alley Cats. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 888 in Columbus, Ohio, Retired Police Association and Teamsters Local #20.
He is survived by his loving companion of 30 years, Charleen R. Hoot; daughters, Lisa Marie Stephenson, Jamie Sue (Kris) Jones, Charlene Faye Napier, Melinda Maxine (Jeff) Davis, Lana LaRue Davenport and Deanna; sons, Tom (Cheryl) Hoot, Jr., Kevin (Carolyn) Hoot, Don (Holly) Hoot, Kerry Hoot and James Bryant; 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road (east of I-280) on Thursday, October 15, 2015 from
2 pm – 8 pm. Funeral services will be held in Calvary Lutheran Church 1930 Bradner Rd. Northwood, Ohio 43619 on Friday, October 16, 2015 at 2 pm with interment to follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Calvary Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
