Dale A. Gladieux, 88, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Detroit Avenue. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on December 16, 1933 to Merl and Alberta (Rowell) Gladieux. He graduated from Waite High School and served in the United States Army. He married the love of his life, Virginia (Robinson) on September 28, 1957. Dale worked for the Toledo Police Department, retiring as a Sergeant in 1988. He was a past member at East Christian Church where he served as a Deacon, but most recently a member of Memorial United Church of Christ. Dale was also a member of the Toledo Police Retirees Association. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing and rowing. Dale was always staying active. His true passion was wood carving, making 100's of unique customized pieces over many years. Dale had many loves, in life, but nothing was greater than his faith and his family who will miss him dearly. Dale is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Virginia; daughter, Julie (Don) Wietrzykowski; sons, Timothy and David Gladieux; grandchildren, Jacob, Nicholas and Tony (Tasha); great-grandchildren, Troy, Arianna, Abigail, Jayci, Kendall, Mckenzie; nephews, Tom (Sandy) Huss, Steve (Juanita) Huss, Rob (Rae) Huss and Ron Lermer. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Delores (Shepard) Thanasiu; and grandson, Timothy Jr. The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel 440 S. Coy Road Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until the time of funeral services at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private at Restlawn Memorial Park.
