Dale Calvin Swartz, devoted husband, loving father and cherished grandfather, 97, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Friday, October 27, 2023 at Otterbein of Pemberville. He was born March 13, 1926, in Martin, Ohio to Reuben and Margaret (Bennett) Swartz. Dale attended Waite High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy. On June 14, 1947, he married the love of his life, Barbara Baker. Dale retired from Ohio Bell in 1984 after 38 years of service. He was a longtime member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and currently a member of Mainstreet Church. Dale was a longtime volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America where he was honored with the Silver Beaver Award.

Dale is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 76 years, Barbara, daughters, Judith (Rev. James) Whaley and Mary (Larry) Habil; 3 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Edith Swartz. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Swartz.

The family will receive friends at Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Millbury Chapel, 1111 Woodville Road, (east of I-280) Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Funeral services Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment: Lake Township Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Mainstreet Church or Ashanti Hospice.
