Dalia Alvarado, 77, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. She was born on October 29, 1946, in Palma Soriano, Cuba, to Felipe and Esther (Gonzales) Sadin. On June 2, 1973, she married the love of her life, Jesus Alvarado.

Dalia immigrated to Toledo, Ohio, from Cuba in the 1960s and quickly made the city her home. She was a devoted member of the Toledo Spanish congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses for many years. Dalia will be remembered for her warm hospitality and extraordinary cooking skills. Among her many hobbies, she particularly enjoyed gardening and was an exceptionally skilled seamstress. She retired from Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center and, after retirement, dedicated her life to caring for her grandchildren and creating beautiful memories with them.

Dalia is survived by her husband of 51 years, Jesus; her children, Jesus (Elena) Alvarado Jr. and Cristina (Amy Overmyer) Alvarado; her grandchildren, Jesus Emiliano III, Esella Elena, Enrique Felipe, Elias Roman, Gabriel Cruz, and Cristian Joaquín; her brothers, David (Alejandra) Sadin and Omar (Cindy Nees) Sadin; along with many loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Felipe.

The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow at North Oregon Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio, especially Elizabeth, her nurse, who helped the family navigate the challenges of Alzheimer's disease.
