Dana Wilson Jones, of Renton Washington and formerly of Toledo, passed away on July 30, 2007. Dana was born in Middleport, OH in 1921 to Dana G. and Dora Jones. He served in the US Army infantry during World War II where he received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was employed in the family business, Jones Confectionary, from 1946 until it closed in 1968. He then went to work as a letter carrier for the US Postal Service, retiring in 1986. In his retirement he worked for the law firm of Connelly, Jackson & Collier until taking his second retirement at the age of 81. He was a member of East Christian Church in Oregon for over 60 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Dorothy. Dana's great adventure in 2005 was his move from East Toledo to Kent, Washington to be near his family. He enjoyed his time in Washington State near his daughter, Diana (Howard) Woodward; grandsons, Darold (Marijean) Woodward and Matthew (Christine) Woodward; great-grandchildren, Kelig, Aislinn and Colin Woodward. Dana was a proud great-grandpa and attended baseball, soccer and volleyball games. In June he was very excited to attend the high school graduation of his oldest great-grandson. Dana treasured his new friends at the Chateau Retirement Community and Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed watching Ohio State games and really loved wearing his Buckeye's cap. To his delight there would occasionally be recognition of his Ohio loyalty. His big smile and positive attitude will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. in the Lake Township Cemetery, 3550 Walbridge Road, Millbury.
