Daniel C. Dhondt, 81, of Perrysburg, Ohio, and formerly of Toledo, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018. Dan was born February 25, 1937 in Perrysburg, Ohio to Marcil and Mildred (Brown) Dhondt. On October 3, 1958 he married the love of his life, Lois Butterfield. Dan was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the United States Army Reserves. He worked as a railroader and retired from Chrysler Corporation in 1991. Dan was an avid golfer, enjoyed working on cars, watching NASCAR, camping, and traveling with his wife and friends. His true passion was spending time with his family who he loved dearly.
Dan is survived by his children, Connie (Scott) Hatch, Michael (Sandra) Dhondt Sr., and Karen (David) Mazuchowski; grandchildren, Christan (Eddie) Sliwka, Kevin Hatch, Michael (Katarina) Dhondt Jr., Kyle Hatch, Keaton (Ashley) Hatch, Morgan Mazuchowski, and Taylor Mazuchowski; great-grandchildren, Hartley, Locklyn, Ledger, and 1 on the way; siblings, Betty, Joyce, Bill, Nancy, and Rosemary; along with many loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Marcil Jr.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Funerals services will be conducted Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 10:00 am the funeral home. Interment: Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be directed to a local veteran's organization of the donor's choice.
