Daniel G. Kneisley, 81, of Oregon, Ohio passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrrysburg on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. He was born in Toledo, Ohio on February 5, 1936 to Glenn and Helen (Utter). Dan graduated from Waite High School and went on to be a proud member of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a chef at Belmont and Brandywine Country Clubs and the Willows, as well as the owner/operator of Danny's Hideaway and manager of the Black Angus. Dan was the food operations manager at Flower Hospital for 15 years before retiring in 2001. Following retirement, Dan worked for the city of Oregon for 14 years. Dan loved golfing, yard work, going out to dinner and following his children's sporting activities. He was a member of First St. John Lutheran Church.
Dan is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cheryl; children, Jeffrey (Tammy), Jennifer (Marty) Hartwig, Jill Kuczynski, Jodi (Tom) Patterson, Josh (Kelcee Evans) Kneisley; brothers, Jesse and David (Nancy); 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; in-laws, Sandy Miller, Tom (Sandy) Miller, Ken (Nancy) Miller, Ogie (Peg) Miller, Jeff (Jenny) Miller; along with countless nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Betty and Ferd Miller sisters-in-law, Carla Kneisley and Margaret Miller; brother-in-law, Dan Miller; son-in-law, Steve Kuczynski.
The family will receive friends at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road on Sunday, May 28, 2017 from 12:00 pm until the time of the funeral service and military honors at 6:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
