IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel George
Sisler
September 22, 1945 – January 21, 2024
Daniel George Sisler, 78, of Walbridge, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by his family January 21, 2024. He was born on September 22, 1945 in Terra Alta, West Virginia to Raymond and Myrtle Sisler. Dan grew up in West Virginia and at age 16, moved to Walbridge Ohio and graduated from Lake High School. Dan met the love of his life, Carolyn Wheeler at Athens Missionary Baptist Church in Walbridge and were married June 19, 1965. Dan has attended and served Athens Missionary Baptist Church for 62 years where he loved singing in the choir next to his brother, Jim. Dan had a servant's heart and served the Lord through love and care of others.
Daniel worked at AP-Parts/Faurecia retiring in 2001 after 30 years. In addition, he worked at Mid-State Grain Elevator, Toledo Tarp, Wilcox Canvas Awnings, and the Andersons.
Dad was a gifted Mr. Fix-it and was constantly called upon by family and friends in crisis. He was the first to rescue others, day or night. Dan had a deep love for animals and rescued many. He loved reading westerns, studying and teaching the Bible, enjoyed the outdoors, and watching his children play ball. He was an avid Detroit Tigers and Lion's fan never missing a season and a huge Michigan Wolverines fan. GO Blue! Dan cherished his family and was devoted to them. His children and grandchildren meant the world to him as he never missed one of their events. Dad was often "ornery" and never missed a chance to make someone smile through his humor and songs.
Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carolyn; children: David (Sue) Sisler, Diane (Allen) Harrah, and Daniel Scott (Olieva) Sisler; grandchildren: Allie (Jeremy) Bales, Cole (Leslie) Harrah, Zach (fiancé Casey) Sisler, Ally (Sakib) Mucic, Austin Sisler, and Kaylee (fiancé Tate) Harrah; great-grandchildren, Adis and Mateo George Mucic, and Krew Daniel Bales; siblings; Betty (late Charlie) Meadows, Jim (Mary) Sisler, Judy (late Dale) Collison, Cathy (Alva) Evans, and Ramona (late Michael) Morris. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers-Raymond and Paul-Michael.
The family would especially like to thank the tremendous care given by "Dad's Village" of caregivers; Jen, Erica, Tina, Jessica, and Bonnie. Your love and devotion to dad meant the world to us.
